Tour du Mont Blanc 2020
The Tour du Mont Blanc is a popular long-distance hiking trail that spans around 170 kilometers (106 miles) and passes through France, Italy, and Switzerland. IT is a classic trek that circles around the highest peak in the Alps, Mont Blanc, and takes you through three countries – France, Italy, and Switzerland. The trail is a mix of challenging ascents and descents, meandering through picturesque alpine meadows, rugged mountain passes, and quaint villages.
During the first few days of the trek, I hiked through the lush forests and green valleys of Chamonix in France, before crossing over to the Italian side of the mountain range. The views of the towering peaks and the glaciers were simply stunning.
In Italy, the trail took me through some charming hamlets, and I had the opportunity to indulge in some delicious local cuisine. I also encountered some challenging climbs, including the steep ascent up to the Col du Bonhomme, which was definitely worth it for the panoramic views.
As I crossed into Switzerland, the scenery continued to amaze me, with the glittering blue waters of the Lac Blanc and the jagged peaks of the Swiss Alps. The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the climb up to the FenĂȘtre d’Arpette, which offered some of the most spectacular views of the entire trek.
Overall, the Tour du Mont Blanc was an unforgettable experience that tested my physical limits while immersing me in the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Alps. It’s a must-do for any hiker or nature enthusiast, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an epic adventure.
